Visitor Information

As its mission, the Kranich Museum commissions and collects works of contemporary art that use the house, the surrounding landscape, and their histories as points of departure. Artists in the collection use media ranging from painting and sculpture to sound, video, and performance to interpret these rich and specific surroundings. The museum opened in the fall of 2011 under the curatorial direction of Alex Schweder. From 2015 to 2020 Zsuzsanna Stanitz was the curator of Kranich Museum.
